Benefits of Adopting a 4-day Work Week in UAE Workplaces

The shift from 5 working days to 4 working days is a new trend in the digital age that has transformed the lives of organizations.
The marketing director at Great Place to Work® UAE, Ibrahim Mougharbel, highlighted the importance of adopting hybrid work models and the challenges that threaten workplaces. He also suggested successful solutions to improve the working conditions, as follows:
“Flexibility and listening to your employees’ needs are the key elements for success. Even if companies are not able to offer remote and hybrid models anymore, they need to understand how they can support their employees to do a better job on a daily basis. As a simple example, when it comes to parents, do you offer flexibility so that they can pick up their kids’ school, as I said, even if you don’t offer work from home or hybrid? Companies listening to their employees will help them figure out the best practices that suit their business, and that will impact positively the employee’s performance and experience.”
According to a case study conducted in the Sharjah government, where a 4-day work schedule is applied, 90% of the employees are satisfied. Indeed, results have shown that 86% of the employees were more productive. Moreover, results proved that 89.9% of the work performance of the employees increased.
Therefore, the following blog investigates the advantages of adopting a 4-day Work Week in UAE Workplaces.
Happy employees mean a vibrant workplace.
Employees react positively when they are comfortable with their work environment. Establishing a four-day workweek during the week can increase employees’ satisfaction. This is because they have time to spend alone and recharge. Therefore, they return to work full of life and energy.
The results of the Great Place to Work® Trust Index© Survey showed that 87% of the employees at a company feel that they work in a healthy working environment based on the benefits that they offer.
Stay relaxed by managing your work life and private life!
Employees’ mental, physical, and psychological health play a key role in the development of the company. A four-day work schedule enables employees to spend more time with their families and rest. Therefore, this helps in decreasing stress levels. Time management is important here as well, as is prioritizing tasks and setting expectations. This is in addition to offering a positive work environment. When people are not overloaded, they can produce more.
Increase productivity levels.
Employees can be more productive when they have good well-being and a positive work environment. In addition, employees can concentrate more and align with the plan without any distractions. Their creativity also increases, and they will be more active during working hours.
