The Capital Market Authority’s (CMA’s) functions, since its inception, have been to regulate and develop the Saudi Capital Market by issuing required rules, regulations, and instructions for implementing the provisions of the Capital Market Law (CML). The basic objectives are to create an appropriate investment environment, boost confidence, and reinforce transparency and disclosure standards in all listed joint stock companies, and moreover to protect the investors and securities dealers from illegal acts in the market. CMA seeks to make the Saudi capital market a major source of financing and investment for developing the national economy, and one of the most important capital markets in the world. For such purpose, CMA continues to develop, strive for excellence, and is keen to communicate and consult with investors, interested parties, and stakeholders.
