Certification Badge Guidelines

When using the Certification badge, you also agree to our Terms & Conditions. The Certification badge is protected under trademark rights by Great Place To Work and should always be shown with a TM symbol.

Specifications

Your Certification badge is specialized to your workplace with variable content that localizes your badge specific to your organization’s validation period and country of operation. Without this content, it’s not a valid badge. Certified in more than one country? Need it in a specific language? Not a problem. Check your toolkit.

Clear Space

You’ll want to make sure everyone can see your badge. We’ve created a helpful guide to keep a minimum clear space around the badge. This area is equal to 1/3 of the width and should scale proportionally with the badge.

Color Variations

Primary Option

The promotion of this great achievement calls for a full-color badge in most instances. Whether digital or print, we’ve got the right file for you. Below you can find the specific color breakdowns to make sure your badge is reproduced accurately.

Misuse

We try to make the badge easy to use for you and your workplace, but we get that not everyone has access to a design team. We understand mistakes happen, but altering the badge in any way can harm the credibility of your badge, and nobody wants that. We’ve listed a few things here that you’ll want to avoid.

No Replacement

The Great Place To Work logo is strictly prohibited for use by any organization and should never be used as a replacement for your Certification badge.

No Content Alterations

Do not try to change the badge's styling or placement, or create an unapproved combination of variable or invariable content.

No Shape Alterations

Do not alter the overall footprint or containing shape of the badge.

No Color Alterations

Do not alter the color or use any other non-approved color variations of the badge.

No Effects

Do not add a drop shadow, outer glow, or any other effects to the badge.

No Distortions

Do not stretch or distort the badge in any way.

Access Your Badge

Now that we’ve covered how to (and how not to) use your Certification Badge, let’s get promoting! Access your badge via your customer portal and toolkit.

National List Badge Guidelines

The national list badge is awarded to companies who have achieved the top scores in a designated country. The navy blue box coloring indicates a national list badge.

List Badge Alignment & Spacing

The national list badges have been designed in this square format with the Great Place To Work® logo placement in the bottom left corner. The top half of the badge is where list titles and list names will be typeset. The bottom right corner is reserved for country names and year.

Grid Alignment

Clear Space

The grid shown in the above example displays the minimum area to be kept clear from any graphics or other interference. This area is directly related to half the height of the box container (x) and surrounds the brandmark at the furthest point on each side.

Badge Usage

To maintain consistency throughout our identity application it is essential that our brandmarks are never altered in any way. Please keep in mind that the integrity of the Great Place To Work® brand is diminished when the brandmarks are used incorrectly. It is essential that all of our brandmarks are always reproduced from the master artwork.

Creative Modifications to Avoid

Alter the color, or use any other non-approved colors.

Rotate or create any dynamic composition with the national list badge.

Add a stroke or outline to the mark or interior type.

Add a drop-shadow or outer-glow to the national list badge.

Remove the type from its container or alter the container color.

Stretch or alter the national list badge type or container.

Alter the containing shape of the national list badge.

Skew or put the national list badge on any kind of perspective rendering.

Tile or create any type of pattern with the national list badge.

Alter or amend the language on the national list badge.

International Regional List Badge Guidelines

Best Workplaces FAQs

To be featured on the Best Workplaces lists, an organization must first become Certified™ as a great workplace. Through the Certification process, we gather insightful employee feedback and statistics utilizing our anonymous, research-driven Trust Index survey, in addition to company-provided details on your organization’s background and composition. To become an official Best Workplace, a company must be among the top-performing Certified™ firms and pass an in-depth assessment conducted by our culture specialists.

We assess our group of Certified™ great workplaces using our For All Model and Methodology. As Best Workplaces™, the honor only goes to the most achieving Certified™ businesses who successfully complete a demanding evaluation of their workplace culture and employee experience. Companies who would like to become Certified™ must conduct our flagship assessment, the Trust Index survey, to their employees and have them complete a Culture Brief, which is a questionnaire on their working environment.

To be eligible for our Best Workplaces™ lists, you will need to be Great Place To Work® Certified™ and pass the rigorous assessment of your organization’s workplace culture by our culture experts. All eligibility criteria for each Best Workplaces™ Lists can be found on our upcoming lists calendar.

Ranking on our Best Workplaces™ lists is no mean feat! We never disclose the names or results of any company which does not receive this recognition, but rather offer to support these organizations to improve their employee experience and achieve better results in the future.

Our mission is to create a better world by helping organizations become great workplaces for all. Certification™, which organizations will receive if they hit the 64.5% Trust Index™ employee survey threshold and submit their Culture Brief™ questionnaire, allows you to signal to the world that you are on the journey to building a better workplace culture.

And our services go beyond recognition, too! We provide bespoke culture coaching services which enable individual organizations to make continuous improvements based on key data and insights that target their unique set of needs at any given time.

Check our upcoming Best Workplaces™ deadlines on our List Application Deadlines 2024 page.

The Culture Brief is a short questionnaire that allows us to build a profile of your company’s history and demographics. The information you submit in the Culture Brief will be used to determine your Best Workplaces™ List eligibility and must be completed for your organization to become a Certified™ great workplace.

The Culture Audit is required for companies who want to be considered for Best Workplaces™ recognition (not required for Certification). The Culture Audit contains required essay questions that allow us to evaluate your company’s people practices against our For All™ model.
